Maneuver in and out of tight spaces with a tight turning radius (28’ 7"). The MacPherson strut-type independent front suspension features an A-arm wheel-to-main frame design for wider spacing and easy access to the engine bay.

Handle steep grades with fully hydraulic-controlled wet multiple-disc brakes on the rear axle. These large-capacity, continuously-oil-cooled brakes also function as a responsive retarder, giving operators confidence at higher downhill speeds.

Control downhill descent by setting your desired travel speed with the automatic retard speed control (ARSC), which automatically applies the brake retarder to maintain the desired setting and descend the road with confidence.

Stay focused while operating in loose or slippery haul road conditions with Komatsu's Traction Control System (KTCS), which monitors the rear wheels for slippage and automatically applies the brakes independently to each wheel for enhanced traction.

Robust dump body design
The dump body has been re-engineered using higher-tensile strength steel (compared to the prior model), reducing weight, increasing speed on grade and improving fuel efficiency. Stability is improved due to the lower center of gravity through a standard v-shape body design.

Waiting brake, hill start assist, and throttle lock features have been added to keep operators comfortable and productive throughout long shifts. These features reduce fatigue and increase productivity.
Manage risk with less-harm
Lockable battery and starter disconnects are accessible from the ground level. A machine immobilization switch enables engine ignition yet disables steering and hoist operation while preventing parking brake release. An emergency engine stop switch shuts down the engine from the ground level.
