Regulate fuel efficiency for lighter work on flat ground with ‘economy’ and ‘economy light’ modes. For higher production jobs and uphill hauling, use ‘power’ mode to increase engine maximum output and raise the upshift and downshift engine speeds during operation.

Maneuver in and out of tight spaces with a tight turning radius (28’ 7"). The MacPherson strut-type independent front suspension features an A-arm wheel-to-main frame design for wider spacing and easy access to the engine bay.
Traverse grades with confidence
Handle steep grades with fully hydraulic-controlled wet multiple-disc brakes on the rear axle. These large-capacity, continuously-oil-cooled brakes also function as a responsive retarder, giving operators confidence at higher downhill speeds.
Stay focused on the road
Control downhill descent by setting your desired travel speed with the automatic retard speed control (ARSC), which automatically applies the brake retarder to maintain the desired setting and descend the road with confidence.
Smooth adaptability with K-ATOMiCS
Operate at peak efficiency with the Komatsu Advanced Transmission with Optimum Modulation Control System (K-ATOMiCS). Designed to help avoid unnecessary fuel consumption and reduce material spillage by automatically selecting a gear depending on grade, speed and acceleration.
Komatsu Traction Control System (KTCS)
Stay focused while operating in loose or slippery haul road conditions with Komatsu's Traction Control System (KTCS), which monitors the rear wheels for slippage and automatically applies the brakes independently to each wheel for enhanced traction.

Robust dump body design
The dump body has been re-engineered using higher-tensile strength steel (compared to the prior model), reducing weight, increasing speed on grade and improving fuel efficiency. Stability is improved due to the lower center of gravity through a standard v-shape body design.

Lockable battery and starter disconnects are accessible from the ground level. A machine immobilization switch enables engine ignition yet disables steering and hoist operation while preventing parking brake release. An emergency engine stop switch shuts down the engine from the ground level.
